JCPenney, JCP.com, Targets the Younger Audience

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

The homepage today has a big splash about the VMA awards. They spent many pennies on a multi-media deal with MTV.

This part of the site has a myspace feeling to it. JCP.com is rad.

The Germans Discuss Piperlime in Brevity

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

Earlier this we reviewed what the French are saying about piperlime.com. Today, we, me and my laptop, would like to inform you that the Germans are also aware of the new shoe site being hatched by The Gap Inc. (Public, NYSE:GPS)

As is common amongst Germans, the piperlime blog mention is direct and to the point. (Schnell Und Direct). Not like us Americans who enjoy to elongate a matter for no reason at all! The blogger simply states the facts and links readers to the press released issued by Gap.

At this point in time, I’d like to give a shout-out to my peeps at Gap Inc. who read my blog. Keep up the good work! Just to give y’all a heads-up on your future semi-competitors; DSW is launching their new rewards program. It kicks off on September 5th. A letter was mailed to all their customers on August 1st.

For now, DSW is still holding on tightly to their theory about not NOT selling shoes online.

There is much more to say about piperlime.com. But I will keep you waiting!

Google Congratulates Jeremy Piven

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

The folks at Google must be in LOVE with Entourage star Jeremy Piven. I have never seen anything like this in my life.

I just made a random google search for the term “jeremy piven“. The search results bring up a sponsored ad by GOOGLE. The ad reads: Google Congratulates Jeremy Piven Of “Entourage” For Winning A 2006 Emmy Award.

When you click on the ad, it takes you to special landing page that states: We were rooting for you to strike gold at the Emmy Awards ceremony the other night, and we were thrilled when you did. As firm believers in accountability, Google salutes professionals like you who have accomplished great things.

PLUS, it looks like GOOGLE wants to hug it out with Jeremy Piven. The dedicated page ends off saying: The question is, whaté─˘s left to conquer? To explore additional collaborative opportunities in this field, please contact: entertainment-team@google.com.

FYI, I also discovered Google pulling the same schtick with Emmy Winner Kiefer Sutherland , Tony Shalhoub , Seinfeld lady Julia Louis Dreyfus and other Emmy Winners.

Yahoo just met with psycho-star Tom Cruise. Is Google trying to recruit some star power of their own???

Putz Puts Page Six on the Map

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

Page Six is known to put people, places and things on the map. Paris Hilton would not be a star had it not been for Page Six. Yes, Page Six is to blame for her popularity.

To be philosophical for a second; Paris Hilton would not be where she was had it not been for Page Six. And Page Six would not be where they are had it not been for Paris Hilton.

So, this got me wondering…with Page Six putting everyone on the map, who is taking charge of putting Page Six on the map?

After thinking about this for a bit, I decided to take it upon myself to personally put Page Six on the map. Literally.

The VMA site has an option to add an NYC hot spot to their Google map of Manhattan. I have added Page Six to this map.

Page Six Has Pink & Fuzzy Balls

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

It’s true. I am not making this up. After all, my blog does not adhere to the same accuracy standards of Page Six! (#1, #2)
Just check out the screen shot. Other big news, Paula Froelich, P6 hottie, is the centerfold of the Page Six byline. Loves it!

For the sake of testicular clarity, I have used Monday Night Football scribbles to match the balls to the specific Page Six scribe.

The Resurrection of Nadine Haobsh

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

The Video Music Awards take place tomorrow night. The official website even has a count down clock. Wicked.

The site is a mess. The navigation is even worse. But who cares? It’s MTV baby!

BTW, guess who is blogging for the site? I’ll tell.

It’s….Nadine Haobsh! Remember her? She got famous after losing her job thanks to her blog

Well, she has resurfaced as a VMA blogstar!

The Denim Butt

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

These guys, thedenimbutt.com, deserve the business just for their domain name. Awesome! Enter coupon code “ass” for a special deal. Kidding. Check the site for actual coupon codes.

Right now, the site is pretty basic. BUTT, I am sure they have a bunch of good stuff sitting on the back-burner.

Amazon.com Inc. Pricing Gets Chopped Down by Overstock.com

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

Guess what arrived today in the male mail? Not a female. My Arrested Development Season Three! On DVD. Not VHS.

I purchased the box set at Amazon.com Inc. (Public, NASDAQ:AMZN). Don’t make the same mistake I did. My advice, buy it at Overstock.com Inc. (Public, NASDAQ:OSTK) You’ll save a few bucks. Amazon sells it for $19.99 + shipping. (Unless you spend over $25.) Overstock.com is selling it for $16.91 + $1.40 for shipping.
Perhaps this will explain why the DVD is currently the #2 best selling DVD on AMZN. But #1 on OSTK. Economics 101!

In case you need convincing to watch Arrested Development on DVD, here’s a clip.

Bluefly.com Issues Subtle Statement on Iraq

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

There is no doubt in my mind. Look at that shirt; they are pro-war. More power to them!
